Si\u00a0le quartier a souvent \u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0d\u00e9crit comme un r\u00e9seau de ruelles sales\u00a0et de\u00a0murs humides, plusieurs d\u00e9blaiements et travaux successifs lui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 accord\u00e9s. <strong>Les boutiques de cette rue \u00e9taient c\u00e9l\u00e8bres dans l&rsquo;Europe enti\u00e8re, et la rue Saint-Denis a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 Paris et son essor \u00e9conomique pendant plusieurs si\u00e8cles<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-150\" src=\"https:\/\/libshop.paris\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/rue-saint-denis03.jpg\" alt=\"rue-saint-denis03\" width=\"711\" height=\"495\" title=\"-\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ainsi, au\u00a0XVIe si\u00e8cle, la rue Saint-Denis devint\u00a0<strong>le centre du commerce de la draperie, des soieries, des dentelles, de la mercerie<\/strong>, etc&#8230;\u00a0Ces commer\u00e7ants de p\u00e8re en fils ont alors b\u00e2ti de grandes fortunes,\u00a0jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 se reconvertir dans la justice ou la politique.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La rue Saint-Denis, acteur politique majeur dans l&rsquo;histoire de France<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La bourgeoisie de la rue Saint-Denis, \u00e0 cause de ses richesses et de son importance commerciale, <strong>a jou\u00e9 un grand r\u00f4le politique\u00a0\u00e0 travers l&rsquo;histoire<\/strong>. Elle \u00e9tait\u00a0r\u00e9put\u00e9e\u00a0comme \u00e9tant \u00ab\u00a0ennemie de toute oppression et facile \u00e0 embrasser toutes les id\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9reuses\u00a0\u00bb, la limite \u00e9tant sa \u00ab\u00a0prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 mat\u00e9rielle\u00a0\u00bb, quitte \u00e0 se muer en\u00a0une girouette opportuniste.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmovisions.com\/monuParisRueSaintDenis.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00b3<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Elle s&rsquo;est ainsi montr\u00e9e tour \u00e0 tour catholique, puis devint le centre du Tiers Parti (qui r\u00e9unissait des sortes de \u00ab\u00a0conservateurs lib\u00e9raux\u00a0\u00bb), avant de d\u00e9cider du r\u00e9tablissement de l&rsquo;autorit\u00e9 royale, puis finalement de <strong>se jeter corps et \u00e2me dans la R\u00e9volution Fran\u00e7aise en 1789<\/strong>. N\u00e9anmoins, la Terreur a finit par refroidir son enthousiasme, et <strong>les boutiques de la rue Saint-Denis\u00a0se laiss\u00e8rent convaincre\u00a0par les royalistes \u00e0 les soutenir lors de\u00a0l&rsquo;insurrection du 13 vend\u00e9miaire<\/strong> (une tentative de coup de force men\u00e9e par les royalistes \u00e0 Paris le 5 octobre 1795).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-151\" src=\"https:\/\/libshop.paris\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/rue-saint-denis04.jpg\" alt=\"rue-saint-denis04\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" title=\"-\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Elle applaudit le\u00a0coup d&rsquo;\u00c9tat du 18 brumaire de Napol\u00e9on Bonaparte<\/strong>, qui marqua la fin du Directoire et de la R\u00e9volution Fran\u00e7aise, mais\u00a0<strong>devint hostile \u00e0 l&rsquo;Empereur<\/strong> lorsque les guerres imp\u00e9riales ruin\u00e8rent son commerce.
